The Carmela (single)
This colorful garland holds about 20 hand-made pom-poms and measure about 5ft. from tassle to tassle (length differs slightly on each one). Use one to liven up a doorframe, or tie them together to make one long garland. Use as a party decoration or hang a whole set in a window to make a fun curtain. The possibilities are endless!
The Carmela is made by the Tzotzil and Tzeltal women of the Chiapas mountains.
*We are waiting and hoping for a connection to a maker in Chiapas who we can form a relationship and partnership with. Until then, these are purchased from a craft market in San Cristobal de las Casas. However, they are still handmade and directly purchased from their indigenous maker... which is what Papel Picado is all about!
